MICHAEL HARRIS FRIEDMAN
Michael commenced employment in June 1976 with Rowley Israel Arenstein, where he gained considerable experience dealing with the litigation and settlement of road accident claims against the former agents of the Multilateral Motor Vehicle Accidents Fund.
In June 1979 he commenced Articles with Attorney Ronald Jackson, where he gained further experience in road accident claims as well as other fields of law and in 1982 he went to work for one Christopher James Albertyn who was an attorney practising in Durban under the name and style of Chennels Albertyn and later became a partner.
In 1986 he set up a practice known as A Friedman and Friedman, in Durban North. In addition to his practice, he lectured for about 5 years on road accident matters and High Court litigation, to the part-time article clerks at the University of Natal, Durban. He has since the 1990s concentrated mainly on road accident matters and some medical negligence matters and has handled hundreds of High Court road accident claims for local and overseas claimants.
He has further undertaken numerous overseas trips to take evidence on commission. Michael has sat on numerous MVA subcommittees dealing with Government Legislation and intended amendments to the RAF Act. He is further actively involved with the Law Society subcommittees on road accident matters and is a Treasurer with KAPIL (The Kwazulu-Natal Association of Personal Injury Lawyers).
He has further attended an overseas conference in England on whiplash and Brain Damage” and local conferences on neuropsychology and Spinal Cord Injuries, over the last several years.
Altheana completed a Secretarial Diploma in 1990 and commenced employment with Friedman & Associates in 1991. Altheana works as a paralegal and assists clients with various aspects of their Road Accident Fund Claims. Althea is further enrolled at Unisa for a Degree in Social Work.
